Use case · Dating

For dating coaches and self-aware daters.

Record the date, review the patterns. Bonfiyah lets dating coaches and serious self-improvers see their conversations clearly — what landed, what didn't, what they keep saying without noticing.

For dating coaches

Dating coaches who run video and in-person work with clients can use Bonfiyah to keep a real record of every session — what the client said about their last date, what advice they actually accepted, what assignments they were given. Pro AI's Promise Tracker captures every "I'll try" / "I'll text first / I'll wait three days" commitment so the next session starts with a clear picture of follow-through.

Speaker Themes (Pro AI) builds a per-client communication profile — where they hedge, what topics they avoid, the recurring vocabulary that signals their self-talk. Useful for coaches running grounded methodologies (attachment theory, IFS, etc.) where session-over-session pattern recognition is the work.

For self-aware daters

Recording your own dates — with their consent, which is on you to get right — gives you a record of what was actually said versus what you remember being said. Most people remember selective fragments of dates, especially the bits that confirm what they already feared or hoped. The transcript is more honest.

Truth Layer (Pro AI) catches contradictions across multiple dates with the same person — the things they said early that don't square with later. Helpful as an early-warning signal for inconsistencies you'd otherwise rationalize.

For people working through dating-related therapy or self-improvement, the Story Mode recap (Pro AI) gives you a clean narrative of each date you can take into your next therapy or coaching session.

A note on consent and ethics

We understand the discomfort of "record your dates." Bonfiyah tracks per-speaker consent state and redacts non-consenting speakers from every export, but knowing which legal rule applies where you are is your job — we don't give legal advice. The cleanest path is the simple one: tell the person you record your conversations to review later. "I keep a record of conversations I want to think through afterward — is that OK with you?" is a signal of intentionality, not a red flag. The few people who refuse are giving you data too.

Don't use Bonfiyah — or any recording tool — to record someone covertly where the law requires their consent. The legal exposure is real and the relational exposure is worse.

FAQ

Isn't recording a date without permission a violation?

Yes, and Bonfiyah is built so you can't quietly do it. This is for mutual, transparent reflection — not covert surveillance. Their consent is on you to get right, and in two-party-consent states everyone must consent before you record. The clean path: "I keep a record of conversations I want to think through later — is that OK with you?" Don't use Bonfiyah, or any recording tool, to record someone covertly where the law requires their consent.

Can I run Compatibility Analysis if my date only agreed to be recorded?

Only with their explicit consent to the analysis. It refuses to run without explicit two-party consent — enforced in code, with no override branch. both_consented mode produces a shared, exportable PDF scorecard; internal_only mode runs device-locked for one person's self-reflection — no PDF, no share, no email — when the other consented to the recording but not to sharing the analysis.

Does Bonfiyah tell me which legal rule applies?

No — knowing which recording law applies where you are is your job, and Bonfiyah does not give legal advice. What it gives you is the tooling: per-speaker consent state, automatic redaction of non-consenting speakers on export, and verbal-consent capture, all included in every tier. The legal exposure of covert recording is real and the relational exposure is worse.

Is there one overall compatibility score?

No — Bonfiyah refuses to reduce four orthogonal frameworks to one number. You get a structured scorecard reading each framework separately (Attachment, Big Five, Gottman, Thomas-Kilmann), with cited transcript moments per claim and named friction points. Twenty minutes is the floor; forty to sixty is the sweet spot.

Do I need Pro AI to review my own dates?

Recording and the consent tools are in every tier; the free tier is fully usable at 120 min/month, single device. The cross-recording analysis is Pro AI ($24.99/mo intro, 7-day free trial): Speaker Themes surfaces your recurring topics and hedging signature, Truth Layer catches contradictions across dates with the same person, and Story Mode gives you a clean narrative for a coaching or therapy session.
