Widgets & Dynamic Island.
Bonfiyah lives where your eyes already are — the Home Screen, the Lock Screen, and the Dynamic Island. Start a recording, flag a moment, and read what your AI surfaced, all without opening the app. Free for everyone.
Glanceable, controllable, free.
The best recording control is the one you never have to open the app to reach. So Bonfiyah pushes the live state — and the controls — out to the Home Screen, the Lock Screen, and the Dynamic Island. Tap once to record from anywhere. Flag the important minute without breaking the conversation. Read the morning brief, the open contradictions, the commitments owed to you — at a glance, from your Home Screen.
Eight widgets in all — four on your Home Screen and Lock Screen (each in Small and Medium), three live activities for the Dynamic Island and Lock Screen, and a one-tap starter in Control Center. None of it is behind a paywall. Every widget and the live recording activity are free, in every tier. And because Bonfiyah is one synced universal Apple app, the same surfaces follow you across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Home Screen + Lock Screen widgets
Four of the eight live on your Home Screen.
Each of these four Home Screen widgets comes in a Small and a Medium size. The Medium size isn't a bigger logo — it shows real content: actual contradictions, named commitments, the top brief items. Pin them on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Recording status
A live read on whether Bonfiyah is capturing, with a five-bar mic-input pulse that moves with the room while you record. Three states: REC (red, recording), READY (idle), and QUIET — capture paused mid-session, so the recording stays alive while the mic is muted.
Small
The state badge + a native, always-accurate elapsed timer while recording — or today's recorded total when idle. The mic pulse animates live.
Medium
Everything in Small, plus your day at a glance — recorded today, total stories, total hours, and your most recent story by name.
Tap to jump straight into recording. Also ships as three Lock Screen faces — Circular (waveform ring + elapsed), Rectangular ("Recording 12:34 · 2h today · 12 stories"), and Inline (a dot + timer above the clock).
Daily Brief
Your morning roll-up, glanceable — an open-item count with a critical badge when something needs you right now. About the Daily Brief →
Small
The open-item count as one big number, with a red badge if anything's critical.
Medium
The count, then your top two brief items in full — the real headline (e.g. "Contradiction detected in the Q3 call"), not a generic label.
Edit Widget: show the next items, or just the count. Tap to open the brief and triage. Populates with Pro AI.
Promise Ledger
The "who owes what, by when" answer without opening anything — every spoken commitment Bonfiyah heard, sorted by due date. About Promise Tracker →
Small
Open commitment count + the single soonest one, with its owner and due date.
Medium
Your top three commitments, each with who owns it and when it's due — overdue and due-today shown in orange.
Edit Widget: by due date, or due-today only. Tap any commitment to open the ledger to it. Populates with Pro AI.
Truth Layer
A running count of unresolved contradictions across your conversations — where someone said one thing and later said another. About Truth Layer →
Small
The open-contradiction count as one big number.
Medium
The count, then two of the actual contradictions, each as "claim ↔ contradicting claim" — the real text, and each row is its own tap target.
Edit Widget: all open, or latest only. Tap a contradiction to open it directly in Truth Layer. Populates with Pro AI.
⚙️ Configurable + smart
Edit Widget scope pickers let you point each widget at the slice you care about. Smart Stack relevance floats the right Bonfiyah widget up when it matters. Every widget is theme-aware — it matches the app's appearance — and renders correctly in iOS 18 tinted and StandBy modes.
🔒 Lock Screen accessory widgets
Circular, rectangular, and inline accessory faces for recording — pin recording state and one-tap start to the Lock Screen itself, above the clock or below it.
🎛️ Control Center + Action Button
Add Start Bonfiyah Recording to Control Center, or map it to the Action Button on iPhone 15 Pro and later. Start a recording from anywhere — same AppIntent that powers Siri and Shortcuts.
👆 Every zone deep-links
Each tappable region routes to the right screen — a flagged contradiction opens in Truth Layer, a commitment opens the ledger, the recording chip opens recording. No hunting once you're in the app.
✨ Native + always fresh
The recording timer ticks natively — accurate to the second without waking the app. Widgets adopt the iOS 26 .containerBackground Liquid Glass material, and key glyphs use .widgetAccentable() so they stay legible in iOS 18 tinted and StandBy modes instead of washing out.
Dynamic Island + Live Activities
Drive the recording from the island. Or the Lock Screen.
On iPhone with a Dynamic Island, the live recording lives in the pill. On every iPhone and on iPad, the same activity is a Lock Screen card. Either way the controls are right there — Flag, Quiet, Stop — and you never have to unlock to reach them.
Live recording activity
In compact mode the island shows a health dot and a live timer. Expanded, it carries the whole cockpit: recording status, the story name, the on-brand "N people in this conversation" speaker count, a capture meter, a "Saving N clips" sync status, and inline Flag / Quiet / Stop controls. When another app's activity shares the island, Bonfiyah collapses to a minimal glyph.
The same controls on the Lock Screen card
No Dynamic Island? No problem. On every iPhone and on iPad, the live recording appears as a Lock Screen card with the same Flag / Quiet / Stop controls and the capture meter. Drive the entire recording from the Lock Screen — you never unlock.
Flag a moment
Tap Flag mid-recording to bookmark the highlight you're living through. Later, those flags surface as tappable Highlights in playback, so you jump straight back to it. Nobody wants to scrub a 90-minute meeting to find the one minute that mattered — flag it as it happens, from the island or the Lock Screen, without looking down.
Quiet and Stop — no app launch
Quiet pauses capture cleanly mid-conversation; Stop ends it. Both run straight from the island or the Lock Screen — no need to bring the app frontmost first.
Daily Brief Live Activity
Your morning brief surfaces in the island too — open count plus the top item — so the day's headline meets you before you've opened anything. About the Daily Brief →
Processing Live Activity
When you hit Stop, a live activity follows the hand-off — Saving → Processing → done — so you know the moment the recording is filed and, on Pro AI, the summary is ready to read. No sitting on a processing screen; the island taps you straight to it.
Health-aware
If capture ever stalls, the activity flips to an orange "Paused — tap to fix" state, so a silent failure can't cost you a recording. The health dot is the at-a-glance signal that everything is still being captured.
One app, every Apple surface.
Widgets work on iPhone, iPad, and Mac — pin the recording, Daily Brief, Promise Ledger, and Truth Layer widgets wherever you live. The Dynamic Island is iPhone-only, so on Mac and iPad the live recording shows up as a widget and a Lock Screen card rather than a pill.
That's the shape of a real universal Apple app: each device gets the surface it's best at, and everything stays synced. Record from the island on your iPhone, watch the same recording status widget update on your Mac, triage the same contradictions from your iPad's Lock Screen. The recordings, the brief, the ledger — one library, every screen.
FAQ
Are widgets and the Dynamic Island a paid feature?
No. Every widget and the live recording Dynamic Island are free for all users, on every tier including Free. They ship with the app. The Pro AI surfaces some widgets point at — Daily Brief, Promise Ledger, Truth Layer — need a subscription to populate with data, but the widgets themselves are never paywalled.
What widget sizes are available?
Small and Medium. Every Bonfiyah widget comes in a Small and a Medium size, plus Lock Screen accessory faces (circular, rectangular, inline) for the recording widget. The Medium size shows real content: actual contradictions, named commitments with due dates, the top brief items.
Do I have a Dynamic Island on my device?
The Dynamic Island is on iPhone 14 Pro and later. On every other iPhone, and on iPad, the same live recording activity appears as a Lock Screen card with the same Flag / Quiet / Stop controls and capture meter. On Mac the recording lives in the menu bar and the app, and widgets work on Mac too. It's one synced universal app — the surface adapts to the device.
What does Flag a moment do?
Tap Flag mid-recording — from the Dynamic Island or the Lock Screen card — to bookmark the moment you're in. Later, those flags show up as tappable Highlights in playback, so you jump straight to the one important minute instead of scrubbing a 90-minute meeting to find it.
Can I start a recording without opening the app?
Yes. Add the Control Center widget, or map the Action Button on iPhone 15 Pro and later, to Start Bonfiyah Recording. One tap from anywhere — no need to find the app icon. The same AppIntent powers Siri ("Start recording in Bonfiyah") and the Shortcuts app.
